Post 131 New Building Fund
Post 131’s goal is to own the property and building for the Post someday. To that end, a previous Post 131 Executive Board created the “Post 131 New Building Fund” to accrue the necessary funds from operations and donations. Fisher House
The Fisher House on the VA campus in Tucson accepts all donations from those who wish to contribute. Although it is essentially a “home” away from home for the family of a veteran who is undergoing medical treatment/procedure, their needs are the same as any household. A list of some of the items they need or use on a regular basis includes the following:
Dry cereals
Individual juices (orange, apple, cranberry)
Coffee/tea pods
Individual packets of sugar, sweeteners
Snacks such as granola bars, cookies, microwave popcorn, candy
Individual bags of chips
Cleaning supplies such as spray disinfectants, dish soap, sanitary wipes, hand sanitizer, etc.
Canned fruits, vegetables
Individual bottles of water
Cake/brownie mixes
Basically, anything that is nonperishable will be accepted. These items can be left in the kitchen beside the small refrigerator just to the left of the kitchen entry area. I and the Fisher House thank you for your kind donations.

Homeless Veterans Collection
The VA Medical Center is accepting only NEW clothing and canned goods with pull tabs for the Homeless Veterans at this time.
The Women Warriors Thrift Shop at 5851 E. Speedway in Tucson is now closed, so any clothing or household goods can now be donated to Viet Nam Veterans of America. Please schedule a pick-up at your home. Go to clothingDonations.org to schedule the pick-up.
The new collection bins are located in front of the door to the bar. Please do not bring any used clothing or any other used items to the Legion that you wish to donate. Just call the Vietnam Veterans for a pickup at your home.
Pull-tab Collection
Please continue to save and drop off your pull-tabs from your canned beverages to the Legion. Collection “houses” are available in the lounge. This ongoing collection benefits the Ronald McDonald House in Tucson. These pull-tabs are recycled and the profits that are received help to support the costs of running the operations at the House and housing the families that utilize the facilities.
