Volunteers Program

WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP THE POST GOING!! Below is a list of specific jobs which the Post needs help with and the projected hours required for each.

Download our Volunteer Application Form, fill it out online, print it, and bring it into the Post with you if you want to volunteer for other duties besides those listed.

POSTED 3/16/11M Most of the Money counters are snow birds and will leave soon. When this happens, John will be left with only two full time residents to count money. He needs at least three more counters to get through the summer months.  Please put the information out there to contact John or leave the name and Phone Number at the Office or with Gary Nelson. Two days a week in the morning. As we asked before,  our finance officer needs interested folks for a “Finance Committee”.   We also need a couple of volunteers, either on Sunday or Monday to cut Tomatoes and Onions, which is what the Commander is doing every Sunday. It takes maybe two hours once a week. Scott needs one or two people once a week to make about 30 bar sandwiches. All of these things do not require a degree. Just willingness to help out at the Post. Please call John Wilson at 520-207-6870.

POSTED 2/12/11: Going into our third year of operation, we have grown in such proportions that we are in need of an Assistant Finance Officer and a Finance Committee. If you have financial experience that would be a plus.  If not, our Finance Officer will  train you. It will not take a great portion of your time and you will be helping the Post.  Please call John Wilson at 520-207-6870.

There are NO paid positions at American Legion Post 131.  Bartenders, maintenance people, cooks, waiters, dishwashing, house committee, Post Officers, and others involved in making Post 131 operate on a day-to-day basis are all volunteers of their time, energy, and talents.  However, our bartenders do work for your TIPS and during food events, we ask that you kindly TIP the other volunteers who serve you by patiently taking your food orders, delivering those orders, and cleaning up the dining room upon your departure.  Thank You!
